My Dad, Bill Keehner, 76 years old, took 5 minutes off his time from 2010,
finished 2nd in his age group. Yep, there were only two. :) He loves his X2O.
Since he's been drinking X2O in his H2O no pain from neuropathy in his feet.
Bonking is a term used when you have zero energy left. When a person has depleted all of their energy stores the body just won't function. It is the scariest moment for any athlete. I have experienced it twice... It's awful! Now, X2O is not energy in the sense of glycogen (sugar) or carbohydrates (which the body turns into sugar)... It is the electrolytes and hydrates the system (our body). When an athlete bonks dehydration or electrolyte imbalance is usually not far off. If you maintain effective hydration and mineral balance your body uses the everything put into it better and functions better. Best thing for bonking is to never get there! How to avoid it: alkalize, mineralize, hydrate, and fuel. If you do bonk: the same 4 apply only the fuel needs to be easy simple sugar substances and then move to healthy complete energy sources. The other thing is when you bonk your brain function is compromised. I don't know anything medically about it. It's all personal experience. When I hydrated and mineralized my brain, vision, and the ability to focus greatly improved and I was able to get back home after bonking 10 miles from home on my bike.
